If you have hyperthyroidism or Graves’ Disease and would like to get the cause of the condition, rather than managing your symptoms with antithyroid medication or obliterate your thyroid gland through radioactive iodine therapy, then a natural treatment protocol can potentially restore your health back to normal. My name is Dr. Eric Osansky, and in addition to restoring my health back to normal naturally when I was diagnosed with Graves’ Disease, I have helped many other people with hyperthyroid conditions accomplish the same thing.
While some people do need to take antithyroid drugs to manage the symptoms, these drugs do nothing for the actual cause of the disorder. Even though some people will go into a state of remission, the percentage is small, and a many of those who do go into remission will eventually relapse, mainly because the cause was never addressed in the first place. So while I do think it’s wise for some people to take Methimazole or PTU to manage the hyperthyroid symptoms, the goal really should be to detect and then correct the cause of the problem so you won’t have to rely on these medications.
Radioactive Iodine Treatment Should Usually Be The Last Resort
As for radioactive iodine, this harsh treatment method obliterates the thyroid gland, and in most cases makes the person hypothyroid, which of course means they will need to take synthetic or natural thyroid hormone for the rest of their life. I’m not suggesting that some people don’t need to receive RAI, but in most cases it should be the last resort, after everything else has been tried. Even though radioactive iodine remains the most common treatment in the United States for people with hyperthyroidism and Graves’ Disease, some endocrinologists remain strongly opposed to this treatment. And many other countries don’t offer RAI as the primary form of treatment, and it’s not as if the United States has a better outcome than these other countries with regards to hyperthyroid conditions.
Consider Following A Natural Hyperthyroid Treatment Protocol
Many people can benefit from following a natural hyperthyroid treatment protocol. The goal of natural treatment methods is to find out what the underlying cause of the problem is, and then do what is necessary to correct the problem. This is usually accomplished through a combination of lifestyle modification, along with taking certain nutritional supplements and/or herbs. Although not everyone with hyperthyroidism and Graves’ Disease is a candidate for a natural hyperthyroid treatment protocol, many people can benefit, and it’s definitely worth a try before resorting to radioactive iodine treatment.
